Our Accreditation Process

Building Healthier Organizations (BHO) is the formal accreditation tool chosen by Community Health Centres (CHCs). BHO began as an initiative of the Association of Ontario Health Centres (AOHC) and the Ontario Ministry of Health in the early 1990’s with centres being asked to go through the accreditation process every three years. To administer the tool and implement the review process, Community Organizational Health Inc. (COHI) “Link to” was incorporated as a separate and independent not-for-profit, non-governmental organization responsible for delivering BHO. BHO is primarily a peer review process leading to accreditation. It is a process for organizations to evaluate their services and systems against acknowledged standards of good practice that support sustainability and learning.

Lanark Health and Community Services including the Satellite Program is a fully accredited organization having completed our last BHO review process in 2009, we are accredited through 2014.
