Lung Health Program
The Lanark Renfrew Lung Health Program (LRLHP) consists of assessment, spirometry (breathing test), education, the development of an action plan and follow-up care for clients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or asthma. When someone is referred to the lung health program, they will be seen by a Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE). The CRE will help you understand and manage your symptoms.
We also offer a pulmonary rehabilitation maintenance program for clients who have graduated from a pulmonary rehab program (Pembroke Regional Hospital, The Ottawa Hospital, St. Mary’s of the Lake or Lanark Renfrew Lung Health Program in Almonte). Our maintenance programs meet weekly in Cobden at our community building. The RRT/CRE will guide participants through low-mobility classes focusing on strength, the use of our cardiac equipment (treadmill, recumbent bicycle and walking station) and review of lung health education.
